Young Adults Group (18-35), an opportunity for young people to come together, from time to time, to make friends, explore a current issue of our times and to pray together. The group is being coordinated by Munashe Chipato and the first few sessions will be focussing upon Pope Leo's recent teaching document, Magnifica Humanitas, which explores the role of Artificial Intelligence and the future of our humanity. The first meeting of this group will be on Wednesday 30th September, after the evening Mass (7.30-8.30pm) in the Priory. All young people are most welcome. Pizza provided!
Concert in St Begh's Church with the Sethera Brass Band: Friday, 2nd October, at 7.30pm. A local and much acclaimed band, who are celebrating their thirtieth anniversary this year. We are looking for volunteers to provide hospitality and refreshments at the back of the church.
No weekday Masses this week (Monday to Friday). Masses will resume on Saturday morning at 10.15am. Rosary in St Begh's on Wednesday evening with Adoration from 6.00pm. – 7.00pm.
Please pray for Fr Nithin who is on his annual retreat this week.
Mass in the Syro-Malabar Rite from 2.30pm onwards in St Begh's church on Sunday 20th September.
Diocesan Pilgrimage to Our Lady's Shrine at Ladyewell (Preston) on Saturday, 26th September, with 11.00am Mass, Procession down the lanes and Benediction. Altar Servers are invited to join the celebration and to bring their cassock and cotta and Guild medals. If you are an altar server and wishing to go, please send an email to the parish office, as numbers are required to assist with logistics and barbeque afterwards.
Mill Hill/APF: Once again, time to empty the red boxes. This year is the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday on 18th October, so please keep the missions in your prayers. Michael Doyle, Honorary Secretary/Treasurer for St. Begh's Missio.
Dates for your diary: Church Workday on Saturday, 10th October, to deep clean the church ad polish the brasses. Another team will work on tidying the gardens and cemetery areas, clearing drains, etc. All volunteers welcome. Christmas Fayre on Saturday, 28th November 10.0am. – 3.00pm. at Quay Street. Decorating the church on the weekend of 12th to 13th December.
Carol Service and refreshments at Quay Street on Sunday 20h December at 2.00pm.
Weekly Collection: We received £1,048.71 last week in the baskets, through the letter box and standing orders.
