PARISH SPRING PARTY. There will be a Parish Party on Saturday 17th May from 7.00pm in the social centre, including a buffet, entertainment from Cathy Marcangelo and a quiz. Tickets are £5 per adult, children go free, available from the shop and the parish office.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIMRATION.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION Shortly, this year’s Confirmation Preparation Course will begin, co-ordinated by David Skillen, the lay chaplain at St. Benedict’s school. This will be a combined course for all the local parishes. Candidates need to be in year 8 at school or above; the preparation course begins on Thursday 22nd May at 6.00 pm. The Confirmation Service takes place at St. Benedict’s Church on Friday, 24th October at 7.00 pm. Information packs are available in Church, or please see Fr. Matthew or David Skillen for more information.

RETREAT/TRIP TO BELMONT ABBEY

OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY TRIP.

OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY TRIP. St. James parish are planning a trip in June 2010 to see the world famous passion play performed in the Austrian town of Oberammergau, first performed in 1634 and which takes place once in every ten years, and have asked if any St. Begh’s parishioners would like to join them. The trip will be for 10 days, travelling by air including a weeks holiday in Austria and then two days to see the Passion play. The cost will be about £1000. If interested please let Fr. LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

IA pilgrimage to Lourdes is being planned fro August this year, depending on demand from parishioners. We propose to take a Cruise Ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao, spending three days in total on the baot and 3 nights in lourdes. the approximate cost will be £440 per person including all travel and insurance and all meals except on the ferry. We propose to travel on Monday 11th August leaving in the morning and arriving back in Whitehaven lat in the evening of Sunday 17th August.
