Parish Priest - Rev Dom Matthew Carney, O.S.B.

Fr. Matthew was educated in Manchester and Swansea and entered Belmont in 1987. He served in a number of positions before being appointed parish priest of St. Begh's in March 2005. He is a devoted follower of the greatest football team in the world, Everton."

FAMILY SEARCH ENQUIRIES

St. Begh's holds records going back to 1767 on baptisms, marriages and deaths of Catholics in the town of Whitehaven. Mrs. Maud Smith, the Parish Secretary, deals with all such enquiries, and is available during weekdays between 9.30 am. and 12.30 pm. Requests for information can also be e-mailed using the facility on this web-site.
